Countdowns
Fall Countdown

Camera Used: Nikon DSLR 1080p
Program Used: Adobe Premiere Pro
Fall’s Countdown video was produced at my internship, Victory Christian Center. Which are one of my latest works completed this year. For this project, I used a DSLR video camera. I collected a series of shots of the country side. Next, I imported the SD card onto Premiere Pro editing software. After all the video files were downloaded, I picked out my best ones to fit the fall theme. The first half of the video, I wanted to show the theme, alternating with church service shots. Within the last 50 seconds, I wanted the video to focus on worship. This way the audience is focused on what they are in for at Victory Christian Center. The next step was to add music sound track, deleting the audio from all shots. This brings the focus strictly to the music and video itself. Also, I like to time the music with the video track, to make it more interesting to viewers. From 3:42-3-43, I timed the video and beat in sync. While editing, I zoomed in on a few video clips to give it a closer look and not have a wide angle. This makes it more interesting. Some shots were taken a little jerky, so I did a key by frame and moved it to a single position, making the outcome of the video steady. Within the final seconds of the video, I show some dramatic video clips of how deep our service can get with God. It is always a joy to film worship, finding a sound track, editing, and watching it come to life. That is what makes editing so enjoyable.

Summer Countdown

At Victory Christian Center, this was one of my first projects completed at my internship, back in June of 2016. Going out and getting shots with my intern supervisor of Hubard Ohio, was a lot of fun. I used a DSLR video camera to record the shots. Constantly switching out camera lenses to get different lengths of the shot were crucial to the videos quality. Being very hot that day, it took almost two hours to capture every shot for this countdown video. The following Sunday, I needed shots of people worshiping during service. A little awkward at first, I tried to keep my distance from their personal space. Therefore, I grabbed the largest lens there was to zoom in close to their faces. Just enough to get a nice quality close up shot. After the shots were taken, I imported all video files into Premiere Pro editing software. Next, I found the best music soundtrack to fit in the countdown. After endless hours of hard work, my intern supervisor told me to post it on the Victory Christian Center’s YouTube channel. Not even a week later, my video was played on the big screens the following Sunday morning of service. It felt so great to see my work being published for hundreds to see. This built so much confidence in myself. I knew then, that my work was only going to get better and for many more to see.
