All my life, movie making has always been a field of interest. At the age of eight, is when my interest in film producing started to grow. The memory of re-enacting cops and robber scenes is where it all started. The various scenes taken just to capture that perfect shot is what I thrived to accomplish. It was that day I fell in love with movies and their creations. Working in groups and collaborating with my peers is what drives me to pursue my movie producing career path.
One of my favorite movies is Saving Private Ryan, directed by Steven Spielberg. For being an older movie, it is still the most realistic movie I have ever seen. The various shots and points of view to explain the story plot is what interested me the most. Steven has always given his films an authentic feel. With the combination of different perspectives and various scenes, the feeling of being connected to the character became real. The use of real life effects such as: explosions, fire, firing blanks and laying out squibs are what interested me the most. The use of realistic animation versus artificial is what drawls me to my interest in Steven as a director. As a young kid, I can remember when I placed a single firecracker inside the muzzle of an authentic looking toy gun and firing it off. This impersonated the effect of an authentic gun firing on camera. In high school, I can remember making a WWII Thompson machine gun out of wood and metal objects from play guns. For this project, I took it a step further and crafted the Thompson to a real-life scale. My goal was to have it shoot firecrackers at a rapid pace but that was unsuccessful. I later attended Slippery Rock University, majoring in communications digital media production. The courses of: TV Studio Field Production, Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, and Editing for Video, provided me with experience and exposure with Premiere Pro and After Effects. Being involved with many group video producing projects and expressing about my interests in film never felt so great. I am the worker who will never stop working. After joining the Army National Guard, I was able to complete my degree. Interning at Victory Christian Center, provided more experience with film/editing. The opportunity to perform various freelance work for Tyler Wolf, a youth pastor at Victory Christian, was unforgettable Interning at my church, making music videos, video announcements, and other small projects is a walk in the park. I believe this has been my calling since I was a boy, and I cannot wait for what more my future has in store. |
